The 5GForum in Malaga, a key event for the 5G in Spain

Presidents, directors, politicians, technicians, professors and experts from all over Spain will meet on 25 and 26 April at the 5GForum

The first edition of the 5GForum has already managed to close the participation of presidents, directors, politicians, technicians, professors and experts of the first level, who will turn the appointment of the Digital Content Hub of Malaga into a key meeting to evaluate the 5G in Spain.

The 5GForum, organized by Medina Media, is the first multidisciplinary event on the 5G to be held in Spain to address a panoramic fields in which this new technology will be developed.

Among the confirmed speakers is the new president of Nokia in Spain, Ignacio Gallego, who will go to the front of a team of 10 engineers to show different pilot projects of the Nokia Bell Labs that is developing the Finnish technology multinational.

The executive president of Axión, Jorge Alberto Jiménez, will also speak at the 5GForum about the impact that 5G technology will have on intelligent telecommunications infrastructures, smart cities and the service demands of users and citizens.

 

The Minister of Employment, Enterprise and Trade of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Javier Carnero, will attend accompanied by the Director General of Telecommunications and Information Society of Andalusia, Manuel Ortigosa.

The advisor of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, Pedro Alonso, will comment before the attendees to the 5GForum the current status of the national deployment plan of the 5G to be presented in June to the European Commission.

Telefónica will be represented by Javier Gutiérrez Álvaro, Director of Strategy and Network Development at Telefónica España. On the part of Vodafone, Didier Clavero, network director of Vodafone Spain, is confirmed.

Hispasat’s Customer Engineering Manager, Inés Sanz, will explain how useful the satellite is going to be to take the 5G to all possible fields, above all thanks to its great communication capacity and coverage.

Representing the universities will be the professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, José Manuel Menéndez, and the professor of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Narcís Cardona, who will share the progress of the 5G-XCAST project.

In addition, the vice-rector of the University of Malaga, Raquel Barco, will explain the projects being developed on the 5G in the UMA, and with the sponsorship of Samsung a group of students will do a “pitching” of projects before the audience of the Digital Content Hub.

On the part of Radio Televisión Española, the Director of Technological Strategy and Digital Innovation of RTVE, Pere Vila, accompanied by Adolfo Muñoz and Esteban Mayoral, coordinator of the Impulsa Visión programme, will be in Malaga.

Mario Cortés, dean of the Colegio Oficial de Graduados e Ingenieros Técnicos de Telecomunicación (Official College of Telecommunications Graduates and Technical Engineers), will also participate in a round table on “smart cities”.

The topic of “gaming” and the changes that will suffer this industry by the 5G will also be analyzed by Juan Olivares, executive of the Indian multinational OnMobile, world leader in the sector of entertainment on mobile phones.

Throughout two intense days in the Digital Content Hub of Malaga will address aspects of 5G as its deployment, the Internet of Things (IoT), Connected Automobiles, Big Data, Emergency Services, Telemedicine, Tourism, Gaming, etc..

In the coming weeks, the agenda of the event will be completed, to which only 250 people will have access to maintain the flow of exclusive networking, conferences and workshops in the facilities of the Digital Content Pole of Malaga.
