  • The event’s prominent exhibition area will bring together more than 20 organisations where attendees can discover live technology demonstrations and real-world applications of 5G, artificial intelligence and edge computing, such as MasOrange’s “Forest Smart Guardian” service, immersive experiences with Nokia VR headsets, and Beyond 5G (B5G) technologies in agricultural settings driven by the University of Málaga, amongst other innovations.
  • The leading operators in Spain – Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone and DIGI – are at the forefront of an edition marked by cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, private 5G networks and real-world use cases in strategic sectors.

From tomorrow, 12 May, Seville will become the major national and international hub for advanced connectivity with the launch of the 9th edition of the 5G Forum, Spain’s leading multidisciplinary event focusing on the real-world applications of 5G. During its in-person sessions, which will take place on 12 and 13 May at the Cartuja Auditorium —managed by Yventu— at Sevilla TechPark, and which will be followed by two virtual sessions on 14 and 15 May, the forum will bring together leading companies, institutions, operators and technology experts to analyse the present and future of the digital ecosystem. Key themes of this edition include cybersecurity, the protection of critical infrastructure, the evolution towards 6G, artificial intelligence, private 5G networks and the convergence of connectivity, edge computing and satellite technologies.

With an agenda featuring 85 speakers, 37 sponsors and 46 participating organisationstotalling more than 80 entities—the 5G Forum has established itself as one of Europe’s leading technology hubs, demonstrating how 5G is transforming strategic sectors such as industry, smart cities, connected mobility, digital health, emergency services and smart tourism. The event will also serve to raise public awareness of some of the issues that are already having a direct impact on everyday life, businesses and public administrations.

The 5G Forum 2026 will address key questions such as: can someone access our mobile phones or steal our data without us realising?; how are critical infrastructures such as hospitals, airports or transport networks protected against new digital threats?; what risks exist today in connected cars, smart cities or IoT devices?; and what actually happens to the data generated by our mobile phones and connected devices? The forum will also analyse the future of hyperconnectivity and the role that technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, edge computing and satellites will play in the coming digital decade, as well as their impact on the economy, security and everyday life.

The international dimension of the event will once again be one of its major attractions, bringing together the four main operators with a presence in Spain —Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone and DIGI— alongside leading companies in the technology sector such as Huawei, Nokia, Netmetrix, Minsait by Indra Group, Hispasat and Axión, amongst many others. The forum will also feature business and institutional representatives from more than ten countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as from numerous Spanish autonomous communities.

More than 20 organisations will showcase real-world use cases in the large exhibition area

One of the main attractions of this ninth edition will be the extensive exhibition area, where attendees will be able to experience live technology demonstrations and discover real-world applications of 5G, artificial intelligence and edge computing developed by more than twenty companies and organisations.

Among the highlights will be MasOrange’s “Forest Smart Guardian” service, a disruptive solution for forest fire prevention that combines autonomous drones, artificial intelligence and 5G SA. For its part, Nokia will showcase demonstrations of L4S and Nokia Digital Twin, alongside reality capture technologies for remote experts and immersive visualisation via VR headsets.

The University of Málaga will present the application of Beyond 5G (B5G) technologies in agricultural environments through the European projects 6G-PATH and 6G-VERSUS, including cases of remote operation of vehicles and drones, smart sensors and AI processing in edge computing. It will also highlight Gsertel’s Hexylon Gamma project, aimed at advanced network validation and monitoring.

The exhibition area will also feature organisations such as Orange Empresas, Telefónica, Vodafone, DIGI, Ayscom, VIAVI Solutions / Wavecontrol, Minsait by Indra Group, Teltronic, Axión, Gradiant, ManageEngine, Italtel, Neutroon, Rohde & Schwarz, SAPEC, Ethon Shield, Anritsu and Secmotic, creating a space dedicated to showcasing real technologies that are already transforming the digital ecosystem.

The event will also feature an exclusive networking area, designed to facilitate the exchange of experiences between professionals, companies and institutions, fostering new partnerships and business opportunities.
