Orange promotes its vision for 5G, AI and cybersecurity at the 5G Forum 2026

  • Spain’s leading mobile operator by number of customers will play an active role throughout the event, offering a comprehensive vision spanning everything from network deployment to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the application of 5G across various economic sectors.
  • The Cartuja Auditorium – managed by Yventu – at Sevilla TechPark will host the two in-person sessions on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 May, whilst the two virtual sessions will take place on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May.

 

The ninth edition of the Seville 5G Forum, to be held from 12 to 15 May at the Cartuja Auditorium – managed by Yventu – in Seville TechPark, will feature the prominent participation of Orange, Spain’s leading operator by number of customers. The company is positioned as one of the major players in the telecommunications ecosystem in Europe, with over 41 million lines in the Spanish market, consolidating its leadership in connectivity and digital services.

In a context where 5G is establishing itself as a critical infrastructure for digital transformation, Orange will play an active role throughout the event, offering a comprehensive vision spanning from network deployment to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the application of 5G across various economic sectors.

 

Network strategy and evolution towards 5G Advanced

Orange’s participation will begin at the opening session with a presentation by Mónica Sala, Chief Network Officer, who will outline the operator’s strategy regarding the deployment and evolution of 5G networks. Her presentation will address the move towards a unified Stand Alone (SA) 5G network, the path to 5G Advanced and the role of connectivity as an enabl e for new digital services, focusing on efficiency, quality of service and the sustainability of infrastructure.

5G as a driver of cross-sector transformation

During the event, Javier Olveira, Director of Pre-Sales Engineering at MasOrange, will analyse the role of 5G as a catalyst for acceleration across multiple sectors. His presentation will explore how this technology is driving digitalisation in sectors such as industry, logistics and public services, facilitating the development of new use cases based on advanced connectivity, automation and the integration of technologies such as the IoT.

 

Cybersecurity in the age of hyperconnectivity

Cybersecurity will be another key focus of Orange’s participation, with a presentation by Antonio Sánchez-Maroto, Cybersecurity Business Development Manager, who will address the challenges posed by identity management in 5G environments under the title ‘The Identity Tsunami: Why 5G cannot be secured with passwords’. His presentation will focus on the need to evolve towards new security models adapted to a hyper-connected environment, where millions of devices, users and services interact simultaneously.

 

Artificial intelligence as a driver of business transformation

Meanwhile, Adrián Bertol, Head of Tech & AI Strategy at MasOrange, will focus his presentation on the role of artificial intelligence as a driver of business transformation. His talk will analyse how AI is redefining processes, improving decision-making and generating new business opportunities, particularly in combination with technologies such as 5G, which enable the processing of large volumes of data in real time.
