The ninth edition of the Seville 5G Forum, to be held from 12 to 15 May at the Cartuja Auditorium —managed by Yventu— in Seville TechPark, will feature three of the sector’s leading figures in Spain: Teresa Llamas, Director of Public Administration at Vodafone Spain; María Jesús Almazor, Chief Revenue Officer at Telefónica Tech; and Mónica Sala, Chief Network Officer at MasOrange. In a dynamic interview format, they will share their vision of the present and future of connectivity, addressing the challenges and opportunities of 5G in a context of accelerated digital transformation.
Vodafone: connectivity at the service of public administrations and critical services
Representing Vodafone Spain will be Teresa Llamas, Director of Public Administration, who will discuss the company’s role in driving 5G adoption within the institutional sector. Her presentation will focus on how Vodafone is deploying advanced connectivity solutions— —designed to improve the efficiency of public services, drive the digitalisation of public administrations, and ensure resilient networks for critical environments. In this regard, Vodafone Business’s main objective regarding 5G is to accelerate the digital transformation of organisations, industries and public administrations, offering ultra-high-speed connectivity, low latency and high security standards that enable improved competitiveness and data-driven decision-making.

Teresa Llamas, Director of Public Administration at Vodafone Spain.
Vodafone continues to establish itself as a key player in the development of 5G in Spain through the deployment of mobile private networks (MPNs) that guarantee high availability, security and the connection of a vast number of devices. This strategy is complemented by its commitment to Industry 4.0, facilitating automation, the IoT and real-time data processing, as well as the development of solutions for smart cities focused on sustainability and efficient resource management. Furthermore, the company is driving the expansion of 5G coverage across the country, including rural areas, helping to bridge the digital divide and enabling sector-specific use cases in fields such as logistics, healthcare, retail and education, where connectivity is becoming a decisive factor for innovation and efficiency.
Telefónica Tech: innovation and new business models based on 5G
Telefónica will be represented by María Jesús Almazor, Chief Revenue Officer at Telefónica Tech, who will present a vision focused on innovation and the creation of new business models based on 5G. Her presentation will address how the company is integrating technologies such as cloud, cybersecurity, IoT and artificial intelligence into 5G networks to offer advanced solutions to businesses and public administrations. In this context, Telefónica aims to consolidate 5G as a key infrastructure for digital transformation, going beyond increased speed, by focusing on capabilities such as low latency, high mass connectivity capacity and the development of advanced functionalities such as network slicing, which enables the creation of virtual networks tailored to the specific needs of each customer.

Telefónica is thus strengthening its position as a strategic technology partner, leading the roll-out of 5G and 5G+ (Stand Alone) in Spain and moving towards a hyper-connected, intelligent and sustainable network. Its strategy drives the digitalisation of key sectors through the use of technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, industrial automation and the IoT, whilst integrating network intelligence capabilities (NWDAF) to optimise performance and anticipate demand. Furthermore, the company remains firmly committed to energy efficiency and to extending 5G coverage to rural areas, helping to bridge the digital divide. This approach is complemented by the development of solutions in critical sectors such as defence and security, consolidating the role of 5G as a driver of innovation and competitiveness in the digital economy.
MasOrange: network evolution and operational excellence
MasOrange will be represented by Mónica Sala, Chief Network Officer, who will outline the operator’s strategy regarding the roll-out and evolution of 5G networks. Her presentation will focus on the transition to a unified, high-performance Standalone (SA) 5G network, designed to offer higher speeds, lower latency and an optimised user experience. In this context, MasOrange is moving towards developing its own 5G Advanced capabilities, a technology unveiled exclusively at the last edition of the 5G Forum, integrating state-of-the-art technologies and committing to a more efficient and simplified network architecture following the integration of the Orange and MásMóvil cores, thereby improving service quality and accelerating innovation.

MasOrange is thus strengthening its position as one of the leaders in connectivity in Spain, driving a network conceived as critical infrastructure for digital transformation. Its strategy combines the roll-out of extensive 5G coverage — including in rural areas — with the development of new business services based on technologies such as IoT, private networks, RedCap and 5G New Calling, aimed at sectors such as industry, logistics and healthcare. All of this is underpinned by a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, supported by innovative solutions such as Open RAN, which help to reduce consumption and emissions, consolidating a more robust, flexible network that is ready to respond to the new demands of the digital ecosystem.
The 5G Forum: a showcase of leadership and diversity
The joint participation of these three leaders from Vodafone, Telefónica and MasOrange makes the 5G Forum 2026 a showcase not only for technological innovation, but also for diverse and inclusive leadership. Seville is thus established as a meeting point to discuss the future of telecommunications, in an environment where collaboration, innovation and diversity set the course for the sector.
The 5G Forum will combine two in-person sessions on 12 and 13 May at the Cartuja Auditorium —managed by Yventu— at Sevilla TechPark with two virtual sessions on 14 and 15 May, bringing together the key players in the digital ecosystem to discuss the challenges and opportunities of 5G.
All conferences from the 5G Forum will be available to view on-demand via The Observatory, the digital platform of Medina Media Events, where each conference can be accessed free of charge throughout the year.
The ninth edition of the 5G Forum is organised by Medina Media Events and is supported by Orange Empresas, Telefónica, Vodafone, DIGI, Huawei, Netmetrix, the Regional Government of Castile and León, Ayscom, Wavecontrol/Viavi Solutions, Minsait by Indra Group, Teltronic, Axión, Gradiant, Mavenir, HPE, Manage Engine, Asteo Red Neutra, the University of Málaga, Nokia, Andrew, Italtel, Gsertel, Neutroon, Templus, IplusF, Hispasat, Rohde & Schwarz, Circet, Sapec, Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 / ITCL, Boldyn, Ethon Shield, Anritsu, Evolvers, Grupo Ximenez and Secmotic.
