After celebrating its 2018 and 2019 editions in Malaga, and two years of celebration in online format, the meeting arrives in Seville in 2022, extending its days to a total of five days of event, from May 9 to 13, being the first of them face-to-face and the rest virtual. The meeting takes the debate on 5G technology to the Andalusian capital, bringing together projects, companies and experts who will reflect at Fibes on the latest developments and advances in the sector.

Telefónica at the 5G Forum

On May 11, the third day of the 5G Forum will be held. Telefónica will be present with a presentation by Juan Cambeiro, Telefónica’s 5G Innovation Manager, who will tell us where Spain currently stands in relation to 5G. Since the introduction of 5G technology cities in 2018, we have come a long way in which the Spanish business fabric has made Spain the EU country with the most 5G proofs of concept within the EU. After this path, where exactly are we? How will 5G evolve in the coming years? What use cases are emerging now that we didn’t imagine at first? And, above all, how is our society going to change?

This company will also participate on May 12, on the fourth day with a panel featuring David Artuñedo, Telefonía I+D, with Bruno García, UMA, and Almudena Díaz, UMA. They will tell us about the Evolved 5G project. An opening for experimentation and validation for the long-term evolution of vertical industries in the 5G era and beyond.

Orange at the 5G Forum

On the third day of the 5G Forum, on May 11, the multinational telephone company Orange will also be present. Angélica Sánchez, Marketing Director of Orange, will explain the situation and deployment of the 5G carried out by Orange in the city of Seville. The ambitious project carried out in Seville has included the sale of 5G terminals at a reduced price to evaluate the customer experience. A highly positive experience that has also made it possible to decongest part of the 4G network at a time when it could be in high demand by Orange customers in Seville.

This telephone company will also be present on the fourth day, on May 12, with a panel that will discuss the importance of private 5G networks for companies. The session will discuss the Mobile Private Network, its characteristics and advantages. In addition, the incremental potential will be analyzed when it is implemented on the 5G network. Additionally, a real use case of its implementation in Idiada will be presented.
