The evolution of connectivity is entering a new phase marked by the convergence of artificial intelligence, 6G and new digital architectures that are transforming the technological paradigm. The 5G Forum 2026 will address this structural shift, in which networks cease to be mere transmission channels and become intelligent, autonomous and distributed platforms, capable of processing data in real time and enabling a complete digital ecosystem.
In the field of data centres and edge computing, Netmetrix, represented by Pablo Álvarez and Joel Zaragoza, and Templus, represented by Félix de la Fuente, will participate. In this area, the discussion will focus on how distributed processing at the edge, combined with AI, enables reduced latencies, optimised resources and brings intelligence closer to the data, driving a new generation of decentralised digital infrastructures.
AI in networks: towards autonomy and total observability
Artificial intelligence applied to networks will be another key focus, with contributions from OpenNebula, represented by Adriana Fernández; ManageEngine, with Carmen Barrantes; and the ecosystem comprising Keysight / Ayscom / Apis, with Carlos Contreras Ramos. This area will address the move towards AIOps models, autonomous networks and advanced observability systems, capable of anticipating incidents and automatically optimising performance.
In the field of AI applied to business, participants will include Orange Empresas, Nokia, with Álvaro Villegas, and Grupo Ximénez, with Francisco Jaén Cubero. The session will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming sectors through solutions such as smart cities, smart lighting and immersive experiences based on XR and 6G, integrating technology and services into urban and business environments.

6G and deep tech: the next technological frontier
The development of 6G and deep tech will feature contributions from Gradiant, represented by José Joaquín Escudero; iTEAM and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), represented by Narcís Cardona; S&P Global Market Intelligence, represented by Georgia Jordan; and Vicomtech, represented by Mikel Zorrilla. The event will address the positioning of Spain and Europe in the global technology race, the role of data and the importance of advanced research in leading the next generation of connectivity.
Hybrid networks and satellite connectivity will also play a prominent role, with contributions from Minsait by Indra Group, represented by María Lamelas; Mavenir, represented by Ezequiel Adimari; Hispasat, represented by José Luis Alcolea; and the EBU and its 5G EMERGE project, represented by Elena Puigrefagut. This session will examine the evolution towards NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) models, the integration of satellite 5G and the importance of technological sovereignty in a globalised environment, amongst other topics.
Infrastructure and deployment: the foundation of the digital ecosystem
The role of telecommunications infrastructure will be key, with the participation of DigitalES, represented by Carmen Ortiz; Axión, with Cristina Peñas, Álvaro Abascal and Verónica Roch; Cellnex, with Javier Polo; Totem, with Teresa González; and Vantage Towers, with Juan Antonio de Miguel. Discussions will cover network deployment, infrastructure development and its role as the foundation of advanced connectivity.
In the field of backbone and connectivity, participants will include Asteo Red Neutra, with Pedro Abad; CIRCET, with Raúl Maldonado and Andrés Hurtado; and SAPEC. In this area, the focus will be on the importance of robust backbone networks, the resilience of infrastructure and the capacity to support the exponential growth of data traffic.
Coverage, measurement and technology validation
Coverage and measurement will be addressed by Andrew, with Francisco García Rubio; VIAVI Solutions / Wavecontrol, with Luisa Bastero and Carlos Alonso; as well as Rohde & Schwarz and Anritsu. Key aspects such as indoor coverage, electromagnetic field (EMF) measurement and network validation, which are fundamental to ensuring service quality, will be analysed.

Finally, technological support and service management will feature the participation of OffShore Tech, represented by Elisabet Cusí. The session will address endpoint management and B2B services, which are essential for ensuring the proper functioning of digital environments in businesses and organisations.
The 5G Forum 2026 is thus establishing itself as the platform where the future of connectivity is shaped, integrating AI, 6G, edge computing, satellite connectivity and infrastructure into an increasingly interconnected, intelligent digital ecosystem focused on applied innovation.
The ninth edition will combine two in-person sessions on 12 and 13 May at the Cartuja Auditorium —managed by Yventu— at Sevilla TechPark with two virtual sessions on 14 and 15 May, bringing together the key players in the digital ecosystem to discuss the challenges and opportunities of 5G.
All conferences from the 5G Forum will be available to view on-demand via The Observatory, the digital platform of Medina Media Events, where each conference can be accessed free of charge throughout the year.
The ninth edition of the 5G Forum is organised by Medina Media Events and is supported by Orange Empresas, Telefónica, Vodafone, DIGI, Huawei, Netmetrix, the Regional Government of Castile and León, Ayscom, Wavecontrol/Viavi Solutions, Minsait by Indra Group, Teltronic, Axión, Gradiant, Mavenir, HPE, Manage Engine, Asteo Red Neutra, the University of Málaga, Nokia, Andrew, Italtel, Gsertel, Neutroon, Templus, IplusF, Hispasat, Rohde & Schwarz, Circet, Sapec, Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 / ITCL, Boldyn, Ethon Shield, Anritsu, Evolvers, Grupo Ximenez and Secmotic.
