  • The project will turn the region into a leading demonstration site with an open-air connected circuit that includes all the enabling technologies necessary for the development and validation of new services for cyber-secure mobility.
  • The 5G Forum reinforces its role as a strategic meeting point for the digital ecosystem, promoting effective collaboration between public administrations, research centres and technology companies.
  • The Cartuja Auditorium – managed by Yventu – at Sevilla TechPark will host the two in-person sessions on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 May, whilst the two virtual sessions will take place on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May.

Seville will once again become the international capital of innovation in advanced connectivity with the ninth edition of the 5G Forum, taking place from 12 to 15 May. The event, now firmly established as one of the sector’s leading events in Europe, will combine two in-person sessions on 12 and 13 May at the Cartuja Auditorium – managed by Yventu – at Sevilla TechPark, with two further virtual sessions on 14 and 15 May.

The 5G Forum – “Where technology leaders meet” – reinforces its role as a strategic meeting point for the digital ecosystem, driving effective collaboration between public administrations, research centres and technology companies. This edition focuses on three key areas for the development of 5G: technology transfer to the productive sector, real-world application across economic sectors, and connectivity as critical infrastructure underpinning essential services, from industry to land management.

The 5G Forum 2026 will feature the participation of the Regional Government of Castilla y Léon, which will present its commitment to industrial digitalisation, the strengthening of the regional technology ecosystem and support for technology centres, incorporating advanced initiatives such as Cibermov— , an open-air connected circuit that includes all the enabling technologies necessary for the development and validation of new services for cyber-secure mobility. The project includes advanced connectivity and infrastructure technologies (cameras, LED screens, vehicles and edge servers) and relates to mobility use cases such as parking space detection, safety alerts and real-time vehicle speed display, as well as incidents on public roads.

Cibermov also focuses on cybersecurity as a critical element, ensuring the protection of communications between vehicles, with the infrastructure, with sensors and with the relevant authorities, in a context of increasing technological complexity. This is a real-world testing environment in the field of cybersecurity for connected mobility, which will enable the testing of various use cases associated with different types of traffic and different communication technologies, taking into account the foreseeable short- and medium-term advancements in vehicle connectivity stages.

In this way, Castilla y León and Valladolid will thus become the leading international demonstration environment for connected cars, attracting manufacturers from the automotive sector with the aim of strengthening the innovation activities of vehicle manufacturers and the automotive supply sector in the region.

For his part, Javier Sedano, Director General of the Castilla y León Technology Institute (ITCL), which is participating in this edition alongside the Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0, will explain how 5G is evolving towards more accessible models, thanks to the use of bands such as N40 and N77 and the development of private solutions and hybrid networks, thus providing a vision focused on the practical application of 5G in the industrial sector.

His presentation will highlight the impact of 5G on industrial digitalisation (Industry 4.0), process optimisation, the reduction of operating costs and the improvement of competitiveness. Furthermore, it will emphasise the role of technology centres as catalysts for the transfer of knowledge to businesses, facilitating the adoption of real-world use cases.

With strong institutional participation, the 5G Forum reaffirms its role as a leading platform for knowledge generation, public-private collaboration and the acceleration of innovative 5G-based projects.

The event in Seville not only demonstrates the consolidation of the forum, but also the maturity of an ecosystem that is moving towards a model in which connectivity ceases to be a technological enabler and becomes a critical infrastructure, essential for the competitiveness, resilience and sustainable development of the economy.

All conferences from the 5G Forum will be available to view on-demand via The Observatory, the digital platform of Medina Media Events, where each conference can be accessed free of charge throughout the year.

The ninth edition of the 5G Forum is organised by Medina Media Events and supported by Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone, Huawei, Netmetrix, the Regional Government of Castilla y León, Ayscom, Wavecontrol/Viavi, Minsait (Indra Group), Teltronic, Axión, Gradiant, Mavenir, HPE, Asteo, the University of Málaga, Nokia, Italtel, Gsertel, Neutroon, Templus, IplusF, Hispasat, Rohde & Schwarz, Circet, Sapec, Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 / ITCL, Ethon Shield, Evolvers, Grupo Ximenez and Secmotic.
