The 5G Forum, the main meeting on 5G technology held in Spain on May 6th and 7th in a completely virtual way, will share with its attendees new and revolutionary concepts such as “telepresence”, nicknamed by\u00a0the Finnish multinational Nokia, as “The Owl”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00c1lvaro Villegas, director of Nokia Bell Labs Espa\u00f1a, will present at the Virtual 5G Forum 2020 a device through which we\u00a0will move from conventional video calls to “teleportation”<\/strong>, dubbed “The Owl”. This device would be placed at a point within a group of people providing immersive audio and 360\u00ba vision to a person who is remotely connected with virtual reality glasses.<\/p>\n

“It’s a completely immersive experience, we have a 360\u00b0 view. You feel like you’re there because\u00a0you can ask, interrupt and feel like you’re somewhere else<\/strong>“<\/em>, notes Villegas.<\/p>\n

The director of Nokia Bell Labs in Spain, \u00c1lvaro Villegas, will present\u00a0other use cases in the Virtual 5G Forum, such as 5GEVE, 5GPERFECTA, UNICRINF and the 5GMOBIX project<\/strong>, which address issues such as\u00a0the real behavior of the 5G network and services, appropriate emergency and remote driving protocols<\/strong>, among others. These use cases will also be\u00a0available in the online demonstration area<\/strong>\u00a0of the Virtual 5G Forum, with an assigned expert to whom attendees can request video meetings.<\/p>\n
