they have become critical business infrastructure\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>International experts and technology leaders analyse the future of 5G, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure during the third day of the 9th edition of the 5G Forum, marked by real-world use cases and progress towards 6G.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The third day of the 9th edition of <strong>the 5G Forum <\/strong>has once again turned Seville into a meeting point for the international technology ecosystem, with an agenda focused on some of the major challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of connectivity: <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong>, <strong>private 5G networks<\/strong>, <strong>cybersecurity<\/strong>, <strong>edge<\/strong> <strong>computing<\/strong>, smart infrastructure and the evolution towards<strong> 6G<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout an intense virtual day, experts from companies, institutions and national and international organisations agreed that 5G is no longer merely a connectivity technology but has become a truly <strong>critical infrastructure for the digital economy<\/strong>, driving new production models, smart services and increasingly automated environments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>AI is redefining businesses, networks and infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the main themes of the event was the impact of <strong>artificial intelligence <\/strong>on businesses, networks and digital services. <strong>Adri\u00e1n Bertol<\/strong>, <em>Head of Tech &amp; AI Strategy at MasOrange, during his participation in the 9th edition of the 5G Forum.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The transformation of infrastructure towards distributed and intelligent models was also the focus of several presentations. <strong>Adriana Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, <em>Head of the Telco Cloud &amp; AI Innovation Squad at <strong>OpenNebula Systems<\/strong><\/em>, advocated the creation of <strong>\u201csovereign artificial intelligence telco <\/strong>factories\u201d to strengthen European technological autonomy, whilst <strong>Mikel Zorrilla<\/strong>, <em>Head of Digital Media &amp; Communications at <strong>Vicomtech<\/strong><\/em>, focused on future <strong>AI-Native<\/strong> <strong>Networks<\/strong>\u2014networks capable of autonomously automating and optimising themselves through the integration of AI, Open RAN and edge computing.<\/p>\n<p>In the same vein, representatives from companies such as <strong>Neutroon <\/strong>and <strong>Italtel <\/strong>agreed on the need to move towards more automated, intelligent and resilient networks. <strong>Christopher Gehlen<\/strong>, <em>CEO and Co-founder of <strong>Neutroon<\/strong><\/em>, emphasised that <strong>\u201cthe great promise of private 5G is to make operations more <\/strong>efficient\u201d, whilst <strong>Manuel Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, <em>Director of Engineering at <strong>Italtel<\/strong><\/em>, highlighted the importance of transferring technological innovation <strong>\u201cin an orderly and sustainable manner to real-world environments<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cybersecurity and regulation: the major challenges facing the digital ecosystem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the in-person sessions of the 5G Forum, cybersecurity once again emerged as one of the event\u2019s priority issues. In this third session, the <em>Deputy Director of <strong>the National Cryptology Centre (CCN)<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>Javier Candau<\/strong>, warned of the growing sophistication of threats in a <strong>\u201cdecentralised but <\/strong>hyperconnected\u201d environment, insisting that <strong>\u201cdigital transformation cannot be understood without <strong>Jorge Carrera<\/strong>, <em>Head of Specialist Cybersecurity Sales at <strong>DEKRA<\/strong><\/em>, addressed the strategic role of mobile device certification and the need to anticipate regulations such as the <strong>Cyber Resilience Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The threat that quantum computing will pose to current cryptography was another of the day\u2019s key topics. <strong>Juan Cambeiro<\/strong>, <em>Applied Quantum Innovation at <strong>Telef\u00f3nica<\/strong><\/em>, warned that <strong>\u201cmuch of today\u2019s cryptography could become obsolete within the next <\/strong>decade\u201d, calling for the transition towards <em>quantum-safe<\/em> infrastructures and post-quantum cryptography technologies to be accelerated.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, the <em>Vice-President of the <strong>National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC)<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>\u00c1ngel Garc\u00eda Castillejo<\/strong>, highlighted the importance of regulation in ensuring the balanced development of the digital ecosystem, stating that <strong>\u201cregulation must not be an excuse for failing to innovate, but nor can it come too throughout the day. <strong>Bel\u00e9n Lanuza<\/strong>, <em>Managing Director of <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0<\/strong><\/em>, highlighted the importance of providing companies with real-world testing environments: <strong>\u201cThe best way to understand a technology is to be able to try it out, and above all to do so without risk<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the field of network validation, <strong>Manuel \u00c1lvarez<\/strong>, <em>Technical Sales Area Manager at <strong>Gsertel<\/strong><\/em>, demonstrated how advanced measurement tools ensure the real-world performance of private 5G networks in industrial and automated environments, whilst <strong>Od\u00edn Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, <em>Director of Private 5G Networks and IoT at <strong>Vodafone Business<\/strong><\/em>, argued that <strong>\u201c5G and IoT are no longer just technology but have become critical infrastructure for <\/strong>business\u201d, particularly in sectors such as industry, logistics and emergency services.<\/p>\n<p>The event also addressed how 5G, remote monitoring and artificial intelligence are transforming deployment and maintenance operations in the field. <strong>Juan Mar\u00eda Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, <em>Director of Telecommunications &amp; Smart Solutions at <strong>Apave Spain<\/strong><\/em>, highlighted the potential of technologies such as drones, camera helmets and smart platforms for conducting real-time remote audits, optimising resources and improving operational efficiency. <strong>\u201cWe are moving from a reactive, on-site model to smart, connected and predictive monitoring<\/strong>,\u201d he stated, also emphasising the impact of these solutions on sustainability and the prevention of occupational risks.<\/p>\n<p>The impact of 5G on critical sectors such as healthcare was also a key theme during the event. <strong>Armando Romanos<\/strong>, <em>Director of the <strong>IAVANTE<\/strong> Division<\/em>, championed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.5gforum.es\/en\/ai-and-5g-are-revolutionising-healthcare-the-greatest-harm-to-patients-would-be-not-to-use-artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>the role of artificial intelligence and advanced tele-training in transforming the healthcare system<\/strong><\/a>, asserting that <strong>\u201cthe greatest harm to patients and the healthcare system would be not to use artificial intelligence<\/strong>\u201d.
